Our first official meal for the Outreach Center was our favorite Taco Salad.
We will be serving a hot meal every week before Institute class.
They all loved it and it is sure to be a repeat many times in the next couple years.
This is the Institute New Testament Class taught by Brother Horst Gruse. He is our Area CES director and a great teacher.

Meissen Street Meeting
The Sisters took the train to Meissen to meet the Elders for a Street Meeting.
We walked from the train station across the Elbe River to the city.
We set up our boards and went to work.
It was fun talking to the people on the street.
These missionaries were fearless in speaking to all who would listen.
There wasn't much success in finding anyone to teach but they shared their testimonies, gave pamphlets and we gave our homemade chocolate chip cookies.
Heading down another cobblestone street.
Already preparing the town for Christmas. We have been told that Christmas is celebrated in a big way in Germany. We are looking forward to this. Meissen is a typical, quaint, German town and we loved it. We will definitely go back to explore and enjoy their Christmas celebrations.
After all is said and done we needed food. Creative ways to save the tie.
Coming home on the train we found a young man who spoke English. We were happy to be able to speak to someone and share our testimonies, pamphlets and what was left of the cookies. It made him happy so he gave us his telephone number and agreed to have the missionaries call.
This made our day!

A Walk In the Park
The Senior Sisters Go a Different Way
While the young missionaries climbed, we explored.
How about this color? Many German women old and young choose it and other interesting bright colors.
Germans love to hike. There were many out this day.
Sister Wells has found her man.
This National Park has an amphitheater that could be Tuacan if the cliffs were red.
Here you see the theater.
On the way to the theater.
A walk through the town.
A little restuarant where we had lunch on the Elbe River. This was a big adventure for us as no one spoke English. Sister Gill played it safe as the only word she recognized looke like spagetti. On the other hand Sister Wells was adventurous and pointed to a meal in the Vegetarian section recognizing the word for vegetables. While we were waiting we saw a plate go to this table with a whole cooked fish on it...head, eyeballs fins and all. She got a little nervous. Her plate came with a big pile of wild mushrooms and two potato patties. Another adventure!

Our First Official P day
We took the train with the young missionaries to Kurot Rathen on the Elba River.
Which way shall we go?
This is the castle on the way to a bridge where the missionaries hiked.
Here we see the train station.
Walking to the ferry crossing to get to our destination.
We have the best group of missionaries, Sister Parker, Elder Schreiner, Sister Fitts, Elder Curtis and Elder Jungling.
Looking for a place to get a snack.

A Sound Byte of the Pfahlball
This is not a very good picture but gives a little flavor of the music and dancing.
Dresden Stake / The Pfahlball and Banquet
Dresden Stake Celebration / Freiberg
While waiting for the Pfahlball and Banquet to be set up after the program we took a walk into the old city of Freiberg with the Austins.
This is the old town square.
Another view of the square.
The street leading into the center of town.
Elder and Sister Austin with Sister Gill in front of a fun mural.
This was exciting for Sister Wells.....Yoga in Germany!
Admiring a poster in a window.

Dresden Stake Celebration / Youth Musical
The Stake rented a big hall in Freiberg for their annual Fall celebration.
Here we are waiting for the program to start.
They started with the youth presenting a musical called "Der Kleine Tag" We didn't understand too much of it but the music was very well done and we all enjoyed it.
This video shows the part our Dresden Ward Primary children gave. The woman you see is our Bishop's mother and their director.
Some Misc. Dresden Pictures
These are just some various pictures taken in our travels around the city.
This is the area that the tram system comes together downtown.
The main entrance to the castle in downtown Dresden
An old cemetery that was locked up. This was taken from outside a fence.
These pipes in an old church were way up on the wall. I never found the actual organ.
Here we see the parking lot outside of the hospital. Bicycles are one of the main modes of transportation here.
This is the Emergency Room in the hospital that we spent time in. If you enlarge it you may be see the interesting words in German over the drinking fountain.
This old building is across from our bus stop. It shows how old buildings that have been destroyed, probably in WWII. are just left. It has trees growing inside. There is no roof.
I like to imagine who lived there and what happened to them.
