President Moeller (and his son) welcomed everyone.

Jesus is Our Example

He shows us how to pray:
Matthew 6:9-13
" After this manner therfore pray ye: Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen"

Ian sings, " The Lord's Prayer"

He showed us by His example how important baptism is:

Mark 1:9-11
"And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized of John in Jordon and straightway coming out of the water, He saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him: and there came a voice from heaven saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

He Is Our Rock and Sure Foundation

"And now my sons remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and mighty storm shall beat upon you it shal have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."

Mosiah 3:5-8
For behold, the time cometh and is not far distant, that with power, the Lord Omnipotent who reigneth, who was, and is from all eternity to all eternity, shall come down from heaven among the children of men, and shall dwell in a tabernacle of clay, and shall go forth amongst men, working mighty miracles, such as healing the sick, raising the dead, causing the lame to walk, the blind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear, and furing all manner of diseases And he shall cast out devils, or the evil spirits which dwell in the hearts of the children of men.

And low, he shall suffer temptations. and pain of body, and hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death; for behold blood cometh from every pore, so great shall be his anguish for the wickedness and the abominations of his people. And he shall be called Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning: and his mother shall be called Mary.

Pfahl und Distrikball in Lagenhessen

Every Fall the East German Stakes and Districts have a Fall Ball (much like our old Gold and Green Ball). Last year we attended the one for Dresden, (remember the blog?). The Leipzig Stake had an amazing presentation of food and the music was live. Everyone dances.

This couple touched our hearts. They danced the whole night.

This is President Schuetze, our Area Authority, and his wife.

President Schumann, our District President, and his wife taking their turn on the floor.

Ralph, our Branch Mission Leader, is a great dancer and is scheduled to teach the JAEs Ballroom Dancing. We each got to take a turn with him......sorry no pictures.

Sonja and Henry, one of the two families in our Branch, invited us to go to the Ball with them. If you look to the left you will see the wheelchair couple as he holds her in his arms to dance.

We sat at the same table with the Albrechts. She is from Utah, he is from Germany. They met as missionaries in Hamburg. They have four children and have recently returned from Utah where he worked for ten years. He is back here to finish his school because Germany will pay all his expenses and give him money to live on. Their children are fluent in both languages. They are a neat couple and we enjoyed the time spent with them.

We had a great time!

Fonz and Linda Come to Germany

Our brother, Fonz and his wife Linda, gave us a wonderful gift when they came to visit us in September. We were given permission by President Pimentel to spend some time with them. They enjoyed taking us to the places we lived and loved and meeting the missionaries and our dear friends.

Enjoy the following pictures of memories we will always cherish.

The Freiberg Temple
Fonz and Linda

Notice the missionary badges. Fonz and Linda are part time missionaries in Virginia where they work with the Addiction Recovery Program.

It always makes us happy when we meet those we love at the Temple. We gave Aaron (a JAE from Dresden) and his sister a big hug.

Dresden

We were in Dresden on Sunday, enjoyed Church with our friends and seeing our beloved Dresden again.

Spending Time with Marco and Selina
After church, we ate dinner with Marco and Selina and then they took us to this castle

Fonz and Linda touring the castle grounds.

Radebeul

This is the place where President Monson dedicated East Germany during the DDR time and where he always visited each time he returned. Marco had just finished reading us the Dedicatory Prayer, a very spiritual moment.

The Marker on a Nearby Archway

We pause a moment to enjoy this sacred and beautiful place.

Walking Away

Spending Time with Christina

Christina fed us a tasty meal at her apartment. This is her mother, who lives next door.

We found this car in front of the the guest apartment Christina provided for us. It is called a Trabi or Pappe which means paper. It really is made of cardboard. It was the only car people could afford during the DDR times and they had to put their name on a waiting list and wait about 10 years to get one.

We took her out for a wonderful Breakfast Buffet

We enjoyed another beautiful view of Dresden as we ate our breakfast.

These paintings are found on many of the utility boxes in all the cities we have been. We caught the artist in action here.

Our JAE Friends

We went to Breakfast at our favorite Department Store, Karstadt, with our beloved JAEs from the Dresden Center
