CHRISTMAS DAY

We got up early Christmas morning to attend a church service in this very famous church. in Magdeburg called the Dom. It is said to be the oldest church in Europe. When we got there we found it closed for repairs.

We looked across the street and saw people going into another big church so we followed. This is what we saw as we entered.

It was a Catholic service. We enjoyed the choir and singing the songs but didn't know what was being said. It made us cringe a little as we watched them line up to take the sacrament and all drink out out the same cup that the priest offered them.

These are the organ pipes in the church.

It was a very cold day and for a few minutes the sun came out while we were waiting for the Bahn . This is very rare here. We could actually see our shadows.....aren't they wonderful! You can even see Sister Wells shadow.

We returned to our little church where our friend Romy was cooking a Christmas dinner. She made us curry chicken over rice. We enjoyed each other, listened to music....all uplifting, and played some games. All the missionaries were able to talk to their families at some time during the day.

This was a cute napkin that Romy brought for us.

That evening all the Sisters were invited over to Shen's for a gourmet Chinese meal that his mother had prepared for us. He lives in a small dorm room at the University. His mother has been staying with him there for an extended visit. She cooked all this on one burner. This was served on the coffee table by his bed. It was the best meal we have ever eaten. She brought us 2 more dishes that you don't see here.

This is Shen. He is an investigater. We are hoping he will chose to be baptized. He loves the church. We didn't get a picture of his mother because she was busy serving us.
